About Me
Hi. My name is Michelle and I have been making soap since...well, since I was the age I was in this photograph (my hair is now silver!) A great many years have passed since then as I've grown in skill and learned my craft but the passion and curiosity that drive me to learn and create haven't changed.
My roots are to be found in the creeks and woods on my grandparents' farm that I explored as a child and magical places like this one on the island of Sardinia where I lived when I began my adventure in transforming commonplace materials into useful objects of beauty. Sometimes my inspiration is a place I've been, a name, a remembered fragrance or a conversation with a customer, but one thing usually leads to another and I'm seldom without something new and interesting to work on. Now my home is in Maryland, where I still enjoy inventing, making soap and going to markets to sell my wares, listening to people and sharing my craft. - |
