Dry Skin Soaps

One of the most common requests that I get is for a soap that will be good for dry skin. All of my soap is gentle and less drying than a typical commercial soap, but here are a few that I especially recommend because they have a higher superfat than my other soaps or because they have ingredients like colloidal oatmeal.

Important update: In the summer of 2013, I began using the "Dry Skin" formula with 20% shea butter for all of my shea butter soaps. So now you may choose from the entire line of s hea butter soaps for your dry skin needs!

Original Dry Skin Soap

This soap is made with a generous amount of shea butter, coconut milk, pure essential plant oils and dissolved silk, and cured for a minimum of six weeks, to make a lovely, naturally-colored soap with dense creamy lather. Despite the Plain Jane name, this is a luxurious - nay, decadent bar of soap I'm confident you'll enjoy using.

Goat Milk Soap

A favorite soap for customers with dry skin, my goat milk soap with avocado oil is scented with lavender and Clary sage and rose geranium essential oils.

Avocado Castile

This unscented soap is 90% olive oil and 10% avocado oil. Of all of my soaps, this is the only one that doesn't really lather much at all: people who love Castile soaps know that this is part of their gentle appeal. I recommend it to people with allergies to coconut or fragrances, or who want to avoid palm oil. It makes a nice facial bar too.
